Choose how Hearhood gets your attention
Hearhood has different ways to tell you about community activity. An in-app notification, a weekly email and a browser device notification are separate features. Turning one off does not necessarily turn the others off.

Start with the account settings
Open the account menu and choose Account settings. Review the weekly-email preference and the notification controls available on your device. You can read the community without enabling every channel.
The weekly email is opt-in. The current digest can include relevant community activity, song comments and a song-of-the-week mention. Its delivery depends on the service being enabled and the account meeting the current sending conditions. It is not a promise of an email every week regardless of activity.
Know what a device notification needs
Device notifications need a supported browser, a subscription on that device and browser permission. On iPhone or iPad, use the installed Home Screen copy first. If the page says the feature is unavailable, do not assume that permission alone enables it.
A Hearhood device notice uses a generic prompt to check the app rather than including private message or song text. Your browser and push provider still handle delivery information. A generic notice is not the same as anonymous delivery.
Change the channel you actually mean
If you want fewer emails, change the weekly-email preference or use the email's unsubscribe link. If you want fewer device alerts, use the page's device-notification control and, where needed, your browser's site settings.
Those changes do not remove old messages, revoke a shared song or block another member. Use the appropriate community control for unwanted contact rather than expecting an email preference to stop it.
Do a simple settings check
Locate the preference, read what it controls and decide whether it suits you. You do not need to enable notifications just to complete this exercise. Keep any permission request under your own control.
Account and community explains follows, blocking, messages and shared-link visibility. Notification counts, digest mentions and song-of-the-week selections describe activity; they are not artist payments or a promise of promotion.
