For artists: tell us you are interested

Hearhood wants to become a place where artists share their music, listeners find and support them, and payment is fair and easy to understand. The licensed listening service and artist payments are not available yet. The creative tools and community are already open. This page is for saying that you would like to hear about it when a pilot takes shape.

What exists today

The creative-tools beta: a step sequencer and arrangement tools, the Studio for humming, playing and recording parts, a DJ practice area for your own music files, learning material and an optional AI assistant. It is free and for people aged 18 or older (younger people through a parent). Website navigation, account pages and community controls offer English and Dutch; the music editors, long guides and short courses currently use English. Songs and recordings save locally. Signed-in account sync also keeps supported editable work, excluding recorded takes and DJ audio files. Produce song links share editable data without recorded takes; keep a separate backup including recordings. Free accounts can also use the Community for posts, replies, member pages, follows and direct messages.

What is planned

Produce song links, playable cards in community posts and member pages listing shared songs are available now. They do not host your recorded takes. A licensed listening catalogue and a payment arrangement that shows where the money goes remain plans. They need development, testing, music permissions and agreements before any of them can launch, and we do not give dates. How artists will be paid sets out the principles the model is built on and one worked example, labelled as a proposal.

What this form does, and does not do

Sending this form tells us that you are interested in a future pilot. That is all it does.

What we keep, and for how long

The server at hearhood.com keeps what you type below: your name if you give one, your email address, what best describes you, what you make, the link if you give one, your Buma/Stemra answer, both tick boxes and the time. The operator reads it on a private page. Nobody else receives it, and no mailing-list service is involved.

We keep an entry until the pilot decision is made, or until you ask us to remove it, whichever comes first. To be removed, email info@hearhood.com from the address you used; we delete the entry and confirm by reply. Sending the form again with the same email address updates your entry instead of adding a second one. The privacy notice has the full description.

Only used to contact you about the pilot, and to find your entry if you ask us to remove it.

A sentence is enough: the genre, the instrument, what you play out. Up to 200 characters.

Are you a Buma/Stemra member? (required)

Why we ask: a member's compositions can only be licensed through Buma/Stemra, so a future pilot would need to work with them. Being a member does not stop you from joining.

Your permission

The question about Buma/Stemra: membership affects which rights you can license directly. Check the rights covered by your agreement and any exclusions or opt-outs. A future pilot would need the right permissions for each work and use. See Buma/Stemra’s explanation of your rights. It does not stop you from joining, and "Not sure" is an acceptable answer.

Meanwhile

The beta is open now. If you make music, the tools are there to use; if you try them, the Feedback button in the app's top bar reaches the operator directly.
